Much of what the Council does involves budgetary decisions - ensuring that the funds secured from various sources are used appropriately and to provide the most common good. In my position at Iowa State (and as an Ames School Board Director) I
Also, as a member of the school board, I worked on the policy committee for three years.
Success in my 20+ year profession (manager of a program that served over 400 families per year) required identifying and decreasing barriers to resources for family success. It also involved lessening the unintended consequences of mainstream policies. Coupled with my educational background, I'm prepared to aid the Council with decision making that makes Ames better.
I began volunteering in Ames at Sawyer Elementary the first year my family arrived. Later, I ran for and was elected to the Ames School Board.
Having served as Ward 3 representative for almost two years. I now want to continue to work for YOU as an At-Large Council Member!
